Pflugerville was first settled in the 1870s by the Pflugerville family, immigrants from Germany. A Lutheran church and school were established at that time. Later, in 1890, Luis Bohl opened Pflugerville’s first general store, and in 1893, Bohl served as the first postmaster at the new Pflugerville post office.

Today Pflugerville has over 50,000 residents. There are 15 parks, over 30 miles of trails and over 500 acres of open space within the city limits. The city boasts multi-use sports fields, baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a cricket field, skate park, and the Typhoon Texas water park.
